Sometimes, the most beautiful stories begin quietly, almost unnoticed. That’s how it was for Nikhil and Unnati, childhood classmates who shared the same classroom but not a single conversation. Life, however, has its own way of weaving destinies together.

After school, they chose separate paths—Unnati excelled as a commerce topper and pursued jewelry design in Jaipur, while Nikhil took a drop year before pursuing engineering in Jaipur as well. Despite being in the same city, their lives never intersected, and they didn’t follow each other on social media. But in early 2017, everything changed.

It started with a Facebook friend request, followed by an Instagram post—a playful challenge that sparked their very first conversation. Nikhil, an artist at heart, responded with a sketch of a boy staring at a girl on a tree. That sketch marked the beginning of something extraordinary.

As they started talking, fate stepped in again. Their first phone call happened just before Unnati’s birthday on February 5th, where a casual conversation led to them planning a school reunion together. From phone calls to planning meetings, they grew closer. On March 6, 2017, Nikhil and Unnati decided to be more than friends; they chose to build a future together.

But love, as beautiful as it is, is never without challenges. With Nikhil living in a hostel and later moving to Bangalore for work in 2019, they found themselves navigating the complexities of a long-distance relationship. Every meeting felt like a countdown to the next, but the distance took a toll. In 2021, they decided to take a break—a difficult yet necessary pause.

Even during the break, destiny continued to intervene. Nikhil had promised to attend Unnati’s sister’s wedding no matter what. A year after their separation, the wedding became a turning point. Seeing each other again, feelings reignited. Nikhil confessed, “It was a mistake coming here.” Unnati echoed his words, “If it’s destined, we will be together.”
